The GardenView is designed as an outdoor Observation Hive. It combines our standard, double-wide, full featured, 8 frame Hive Case with a weatherproof, exterior Case. This double-walled construction includes an adjustable air space between the walls, cooling the Hive in Summer and, as a dead air space, insulating the Hive in Winter. Additionally, the Hive Case comes with 1" thick insulating panels that cover 90% of the interior Case, for those long cold winters in many Northern areas.
The GardenView can be mounted on a deck, in the patio, on a porch wall or married into the Landscape. You may order the optional cedar "in ground Hive Stand" for a secure mounting anywhere.
The GardenView Bee entrance can be routed behind a trellis, a hedge or fence, negating conflict with people traffic or viewer comfort.
Like all our Observation Hives, the GardenView is designed for a feral, natural colony of bees. It allows Bees to do their thing as they have been doing for thousands of years. Our Hives are not designed as Honey production units, though you may remove a frame or two of Honey when the bloom has been good.
